How to verify on the NLA site
Open the Neves Licensing Authority website
Go to the main NLA website and navigate to the public register or verification section. This PSP site should redirect users there for actual confirmation.
Search using the strongest identifier
Start with the license number if available. If that is not available, search the exact legal entity name rather than a trading name or logo name.
- Best search input: license number
- Second best: exact legal entity name
- Use trading names only as a secondary cross-check
Check the register fields carefully
Matching one field is not enough. Verify the record as a whole so you do not get fooled by a similar company name.
- Entity legal name
- License number
- License category
- Status of the license
- Issue date and any public conditions or notes
Confirm the scope matches the claim
A company may be listed, but the scope still matters. A record for one category does not magically mean approval for every payments activity under the sun. Nice try, but no.
Treat missing or inconsistent results as unconfirmed
If the record cannot be found, or if the status/category does not match the claim being made, the claim should be treated as unverified until clarified.
What to review in the NLA register entry
Common license statuses and what they mean
Active License
The authorization is currently in force based on the public register entry. Still verify that the listed category and scope match the services being offered.
Pending or In Review
The application or review process is not yet complete. This does not equal a granted license and should not be presented as one.
Suspended
The authorization has been paused or is not presently operable in full according to the register status. Extra caution is required.
Withdrawn or Revoked
The authorization is no longer in effect. If a company still markets itself as licensed under this status, that is a major red flag.
Expired or Lapsed
The record may indicate that the authorization period has ended or renewal was not maintained. Do not treat it as a current license.
Restricted or Conditional
The license may remain in effect but with public limitations, conditions, or scope controls. Read the notes instead of speed-running to the sales deck.
